How we report.

What we publish, where it comes from, and what we do when we get it wrong.

Who we are

The Deal Report is an independent publication on Gulf real estate: every closing we publish, traced back to the broker who made it happen.

How we source

Transaction figures come from official Dubai Land Department records and named public filings. We name the parties to a deal only when a party, a filing or a public announcement confirms them. A figure we cannot trace to one of those is not published as fact.

Independence

Every deal a broker submits is reviewed by the desk before anything is published. Brokers can pay a fee to submit a deal. It pays for the desk’s review, not for publication: the desk decides what runs, and a deal it turns down on first review is refunded. Where a broker paid, the deal page says so at its foot. Nothing appears as paid placement unless it is labelled as such. Who we write about never decides what we write.

Corrections

If we have something wrong, write to desk@thedealreport.com with the article and the line in question. We correct promptly, and a material correction is noted on the article itself.
